French director (1898–1981) best known for such films as À nous la liberté and The Ghost Goes West. ALS in French, signed “Rene,” one page both sides, 8.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, June 18, 1953. Untranslated letter to a friend, signed vertically on the back along the left edge. In very good condition, with central horizontal and vertical fold, with a small separation along horizontal fold through signature, scattered creases, some light toning, and a few other edge tears.
