Remington rolling block saddle ring carbine in 7x57 caliber, 20" round barrel, showing Uruguay acceptance stamp in center of buttstock. The metal surfaces remain in original good to very good condition with slight traces of blue and casehardening gone to a silvery grey. Stocks are good to very good with military type storage scratches, mars, and dings. Good military cartouche in circle on the right, some unit markings and numerals scratched into the left buttstock.Markings good, action tight, bore very good. These compact carbines in 7mm Mauser were a favorite of the Mexican and South American forces at the turn of the century and was one of Remington's most successful export products. Est: $500 - $1,000
