Remington model 1875 Single Action revolver, 7-1/2" barrel, nickel finish, .44-40 caliber, varnish wood grips, in very good plus to near fine original condition, serial #568. The revolver shows 80-90% original nickel, most of loss offinish on the cylinder and edges. Areas where finish is lost shows some erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. The front sight has been neatly reshaped with copper insert, which is professionally done. The varnish wood grips arevery good plus with 75-85% varnish. The markings are sharp, the edges are crisp, the action tight. The bore is fair to good with some dark areas that may clean. The pistol has been period fitted with a lanyard and loop and there are large stampinin the initials "L P" on the butt. A very good looking Remington which is all original with no polishing. Inside of grips marked 'Dawson, Y.T, D.W. Parcher' who is said to have been prospecting in the Yukon when he had this gun. Fine example.Est: $3,000 - $6,000
