Remington model 1875, .44-40 caliber, single action revolver, nickel plated, wood grips, no lanyard in butt, standard left-hand barrel address, serial #148. Inside of left grip marked “Bar-W/1889”. The revolver showsapprox. 80-90% original nickel that has been lightly polished. The areas where the nickel has lifted are showing some minor erosion and pinprick pitting, a couple of minor scratches and mars, good sharp edges andcrisp barrel address. The front sight has been replaced with a sight made from a coin in a semi-sharkfin shape. The grips are good with some even wear, some marks on the bottom from tacking, but generally good overall, and the buttstrap shows some similar tacking marks. The original cylinder pin is retained, the action is crisp, the bore is very good plus. A nice 1875 with a lot of finish, just some polishing with semi-chrome or nev-r-dull (as old collectors were known to do). Est: $2,000 - $4,000
