Remington cane gun with ball and claw grip and gutta-percha body marked on tip “J.H. Thomas patent” with 1858 date and Remington address in approx 44 cal percussion smooth bore. Refer Flayderman 5E-072.1. The caneis in good condition showing some slight natural discoloration and aging and there is some powdery residue which we have mostly removed (paint or possibly stucco from storage and about 30 minutes cleaning withoil and steel wool will remove the rest). The action is not quite working but complete as the cocking lever is not attached and the grip comes off when pulled and cocked. Needs minor restoration. From an old N.Y.collectors estate. Est.;$2,000-$4,000.
