Remington cane gun made on 1858 patent of J.F. Thomas in 22 rim fire cal showing cast brass deluxe grip period inscribed in script letters “C.H. Planter, Lockport, NY” illustrated “Firearms Curiousa” pg. 137 andRichard K. Bourne auction of James Elwood Jones collection. The cane remains in good condition with no markings or serial numbers at muzzle. There is a small crack and old repair near the tip and a small sight addedduring period. The body of the cane is good with some light freckling which removes with oil and needs cleaning and is some sort of dirt or residue from storage. The action works but not cocking and needs small repair. A deluxe Remington with rare inscription. From an old New York collector’s estate. Est.; $1,500-$3,000.
