Remington Zouave rifle in .58 caliber percussion dated 1863 remaining in fine to near excellent original condition showing most of its original blue and case hardened finish. The barrel retains 85% to 95% bright original blue thinning on high points and edges with just some minor staining and light erosion just starting. The lock shows 85% to 95% case hardening with bright colors starting to tone and age naturally. The stocks are near fine with small chip of wood missing from toe at the area of the butt plate, some minor scratches, mars, and a couple of very small losses along the ramrod channel with a few minor handling and storage marks. Two sharp and well defined cartouches are showing on the left side of the stock. The original sight, small parts and ramrod are all retained. A strong 9+ on 1 to 10 scale. Est.: $3,500 -$7,000.
