Remington Sportsman 12 gauge semi-auto shotgun with barrel reduced to 21" and mount for screw on Cutts style choke. The gun has been used hard put away wet approx 75% blue, stock badly damaged, action good, boredeteriorated and butt plate needs replacement. Robert E. Petersen who had one of the finest gun collections in the world kept this shotgun for either sentimental purpose as it belonged to his long timefriend Robert Stack. Robert Stack had a long career as an actor and narrator most remembered for his role as Elliot Ness in "The Untouchables" television series and later as the host and narrator of "UnsolvedMysteries". This cataloguer who knew both these premier collectors well can speculate it was some sort of a joke or wager that Petersen kept this gun for sentimental reasons. Robert E. Petersen collection.Est.;$500.-$1,000.
