Both cheek pieces inlaid with nickel plated, steel inlays, with finely engraved eagle with stand of arms, “E Pluribus Unum” in banner, on the union shield surrounded by scroll. The right cheek piece shows a similar inlay of slightly smaller size, engraved with a fowled anchor and matching scroll. The action shows typical Nimschke style western scroll and checkered backgrounds. The barrel shows a Remington type sporting rear sight and a folding beech front sight. Serial #1773. The action, frame, and barrel, show 90-95% old original to the period soft nickel finish with some slight losses at the edges, just beginning normal nickel age, some small areas of pinprick pitting where the nickel has lifted. Stocks show some light refreshing that is professionally done. The bore is good with some minor darkening and erosion at the breech, but generally good overall.
