Remington Over Under Double Barrel Derringer with Pearl Grips, Gambler's Rig and Book
This is an example of a Type III (a.k.a. Model No. 4) derringer manufactured from 1912-1935. The derringer has the manual extractor and the rib is marked "REMINGTON ARMS-U.M.C. COL., ILION, N.Y." The right side of the frame (under the barrel release) is stamped with a shamrock and an anchor. All markings are highlighted in white. Blue finish with pearl grips. Complete with a S.D. Myres leather hideaway wrist gambler's rig. The included O.C. Young letter confirms the derringer's features and states that this is the same outfit pictured in the included hardback book OLD WEST ANTIQUES & COLLECTIBLES: ILLUSTRATED PRICE GUIDE on page 20.

Very good. The derringer retains strong amounts of original blue finish in the protected areas with the balance a smooth gray patina, with some patches of dried lubricate. The grips are very good with a few missing chips and a few hairline cracks on the left panel, with an overall yellow appearance. The rig is very good with some minor age cracking and some minor leather flaking (mostly on the straps). The stitching is tight and the Myres marking is clear.
