Remington Over Under Derringer with Scarce Factory Box and Cleaning Rod
This Type III was manufactured between 1912 and 1935. The top of the barrel rib is marked "REMINGTON ARMS--U.M.C. CO. ILION N.Y." It has a manual extractor and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips. Matching serial number on the barrels and frame (left side under the grip). The consignor states that this derringer was purchased from a hardware store in Algood, Tennessee, circa 1913-1914 and was subsequently purchased by his father in 1970. He has attested to this in a letter dated October 11, 2010. Complete with the correct factory box, wax paper, and cleaning rod.

Condition: Excellent. The derringer retains 95% original blue finish thinning to a brown patina (mostly on the frame) and some mild spotting. The grips are also excellent with a few light nicks in the overall crisp checkering. The box is very good with minor wear.
