Included in this lot is a E. Remington & Sons Long Range Creedmoor Rifle chambered in .44-90 Sharps. This stunning rifle was manufactured between 1873 and 1890 with the quantity estimated in the few hundreds. The rifle utilizes a 34” part octagon/ part round barrel. The top of the barrel flat reads “ E. Remington & Sons Ilion, N.Y.” and "44 S" on the bottom of the barrel. It has a long-range Vernier sight mounted on the tang with a globe front sight. The rifle has a checkered pistol grip and ebony inlaid grip cap. The walnut stock and foregrip are in wonderful condition. The foregrip has a silver cap at the end of the octagonal part of the barrel. The receiver shows evidence of the original case hardening and the left side of the receiver shows the original patent dates. They are considered by many collectors to be among the finest firearms ever manufactured by Remington and were specifically built for long range target shooting. Serial Number: 4751. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
