Remington New Model Army percussion revolver, .44 cal., 8” octagon barrel, blue finish, wood grips, #71505 with “NJ” stamped on left barrel flat at breech and left side of frame (for state of New Jersey purchase). This gun is in overall very good to fine condition showing considerable original bright blue finish with some flaking on the barrel and frame and an area of finish loss on the cylinder from contact with moisture at some time; crisp action, sharp markings and fine bore; thegrips are also fine with no visible cartouches; accompanied by a two piece cardboard box with end label “REMINGTON NEW MODE ARMY REVOLVER”; per Flayderman’s, only 1,000 purchased by New Jersey for Civil War issue.
