Remington New Model Army Percussion Revolver
The Remington New Model Army Revolver was manufactured from 1863 to 1873 and was the second most widely issued Federal handgun and to some extent supplanted the Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver as the primary revolver issued to the cavalry in 1864 and 1865. The top barrel flat has the standard Remington address, patent dates and "New Model" markings in three lines. The matching serial number is located on the bottom of the barrel and on the left side of the frame under the grip. Small inspector marks , "C" is stamped on the left side of the barrel and frame, and on the cylinder, with the letter "K" on the trigger guard. The grips are smooth with a small letter "B" stamped on the lower left side and "K" on the bottom of each panel. The Remington New Model Army Revolver was a rugged and well designed handgun that saw considerable use in the Civil War and on the post-war frontier.
