Remington New Model 1858, .44 caliber percussion revolver with Martial markings and considerable blue finish remaining, serial numbered 91390. Bill Gary’s inventory card indicates ownership to grandfather of Dick Whitehead stating “He servedin a Yankee Mass. Regiment”. The revolver shows 30% to 50% original blue turning to brown with some scattered light to slightly heavy pitting and erosion. The heavy pitting occurs primarily on the cylinder. There are some dings and dents fromremoving the cylinder pin and also on the edges. The barrel and lever show several large D inspection marks. The left grip shows a cartouche with three fancy letters that are not quite legible. The grips show a crack, small losses, some small chips but are fair to good overall. The barrel address is good and legible. The bore is bright with good rifling and the action works well. The collection of William A. Gary consigned by his estate. Est.:$700-$1400
