Our Assessment: The Remington 742 Woodsmaster was made from 1960 to 1980, as a reliable and easy to point semi-automatic rifle with removable magazines. It features a gas-operated action, dual action bars, a rotating bolt, a solid frame, and side ejection. There are some tiny spots of wear from responsible use and handling, but the bore and mechanics are great. This rifle was made in 1969, has about 87% of the blue finish remaining, and is in about Very good-Plus condition. It comes with a 3-9x40 Tasco scope and a single magazine to get you started. Don’t let this one get away!
