Remington Model 722 Bolt Action Rifle, #138559, .300 Savage cal., 24'' barrel, blue finish, semi-gloss finished one-piece pistol-grip walnut stock, checkered aluminum Remington buttplate; with black rubber slip-over Limb Saver recoil pad. Blade front sight with silver bead is dovetailed into a ramped base; rear sight has been removed and filled with a dovetailed blank. Topped with a Bushnell 4x Banner wide angle scope; unmarked Weaver style scope rings and two-piece base; scope with duplex reticle, 1'' tube, gloss black finish, and includes Butler Creek lens covers. Mfg'd 1950. Metal rates as about fine with approx. 97%-98% remaining original finish; few specks of oxidation can be found on the barrel and left side of the receiver; floorplate with spots of light reddish brown freckling. Wood is solid and very good overall retaining most of its varnish; shallow impressions and scratches are scattered throughout and most look like typical signs of field use; right side of buttstock with an area of tiny surface dings. Stock underneath the slip-over pad retains an even color and finish. Smooth action, bright and clean bore with excellent rifling. Scope exterior with a handful of small scratches and handling marks, optics are clear. Est.: $300-$500. (C&R)
