Remington Model 1875 Single Action Army Revolver with Scarce Blued Finish

Manufactured from 1875 to 1889 as a competitor for Colt's Single Action Army and the Smith & Wesson Number Three. Pinched blade front sight and notched rear sight, with the one-line Ilion address on top of the barrel (from breech to muzzle), a pair of smooth hardwood grips with "44" branded on the left panel, and a sling swivel on the butt.

Manufacture: Remington Arms Inc
Model: 1875
BBL: 7 1/2 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 44
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 271

Very good plus, with 20% of the original blue finish, strongest in the protected areas of the barrel web, with a mixed brown and gray patina overall, shallow pitting, and mild handling marks overall. Grips are good, with a chip absent from the left heel and mild dents. A thin crack is forming in the hammer around the firing pin. Mechanically fine.
