Remington Model 1861 Navy percussion revolver, martially marked, .36 cal., 7-3/8” octagon barrel, blue finish, wood grips, #17666 in overall very good condition showing traces of original blue finish in protected areas, some scattered spots of erosion, good bore, crisp action, good markings including P proofs and J inspector marks; good grips with visible inspector’s cartouche on left grip that also displays an old small crack on the butt; two “J” inspection marks visible (one oneach butt); accompanied by a two piece cardboard box with end label “REMINGTON MODEL 1861 NAVY REVOLVER”, a brass eagle flask and an iron bullet mold; per Flayderman’s, approx. 7,000 manufactured in 1862.
