Remington Model 1861 Navy percussion revolver, Martially inspected, .36 cal., 7-1/2” octagon barrel, blue finish, wood grips, #15565. This gun is in overall very good condition showing traces of original blue in protected areas, primarily on the bottom barrel flat, the balance of finish has gone to an even brown patina, the markings are very good, the action very good and the bore is also very good; the grips are good to very good and show a sharp full inspector’s cartouche on the left side with “J” and “W” inspector stamps on major revolver components. A difficult example to find in any condition and this one is really nice. Est.: $1,500-$2,500.
