Remington Model 1858 New Model single action Rollin White patent cartridge conversion revolver, .46 cal., 8” octagon barrel, blue finish, brass trigger guard, wood grips, #141090. This gun is in overall goodcondition showing a grey patina on metal surfaces with some scattered areas of erosion and pitting, some traces of blue in protected areas of frame and loading lever, good action and overall good bore; right side of frame stamped “CA 53”; grips are worn and show scattered mars and knackering on the butt from hammering nails; stamped marking is similar to others seen on Remingtons and in some articles are opined to be a Californiaregimental or rack number.
