Remington Model 1858 New Model percussion revolver with New Jersey state markings remaining in near fine original condition, serial number 71148. The Remington shows 60% to 80% original blue with some drifting and toning to a light brown patina where the bright blue is lost. The barrel address is sharp and clear. The grips are very good plus with a few bumps at the edges and minor evidence of use. The hammer shows 50% to 70% dulling original case hardening. The bore is excellent and bright, this revolver has seen very little to almost no use. A strong 8.5 on a 1 to 10 scale. New Jersey state purchased the model 1858 for issue to their militia and state units during the Civil War. Est.: $1750-$3500.
