Remington Model 12 Slide Action 22 lr Take Down Rifle

The Remington Model 12 is a slide-action takedown rifle designed by John Pedersen
and produced by the Remington Arms Company from 1909 to 1936.

The Model 12 is chambered in .22 Caliber Rimfire and accepts Short, Long, and
Long Rifle cartridges, with a tubular magazine capacity of 14, 11, and 10 rounds
respectively.

Year of Manufacture: 1909 to 1936

Action Type: Pump Action with Tubular Magazine

Markings: The barrel is marked .22 SHORT, LONG, OR LONG RIFLE.
The bottom of the receiver is marked MODEL 12. The top of the barrel is marked
with a two-line Remington Address/Patent.

Barrel Length: 24 inch Hexagonal - Bore is fair.

Sights/Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed to the barrel. The rear
sight is a wide v-notch with riser dovetailed and screwed to the barrel.

Stock Configuration and Condition: The stocks are two-piece walnut with round
grooved slide grip, smooth straight grip rear stock, straight comb.
The buttplate is a cresent shaped steel. with Remingron UMC Trademark.
There is a 2 cracks on the slide handle. There is scuffs, scratches, compression
lines, and scrapes and cracks on rear stock.. Overall, the stocks are in Fair
condition considering age. Finish appears to be Original.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The rifling is fair. There is very light general
erosion throughout. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 7/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 50% of its finish. The balance of the finish
shows general operation and handling wear. There is scuffs scratches, light
oxidation, and scattered finish loss throughout . The markings are clear.
Overall, this rifle rates in Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle.
