Remington Model 11 Sportsman 12 Gauge 30" Semi Automatic Shotgun

Our Assessment: The Remington Sportsman is a variant of the Model 11 which was the first auto-loading shotgun made in the USA, originally as the "Remington Autoloading Shotgun(1905-1910)" before it was changed to the Model 11 in 1911. The Remington Sportsman shotgun shares the same basic action as the Model 11, The Browning A5 and the Savage 720. The model has been a staple of sportsmen all over the world since its inception and is a truly classic design. This one is chambered for 12 gauge and has a lot of finish remaining. It has some scattered light cosmetic wear but a good bore and mechanics. This will be a great shotgun for clay and flesh birds alike and should be a reliable shooter for decades to come. Please see our photos and good luck!

There is a thin split on the right side of the forearm at the rear. There are no chips. The LOP measures 14 7/8" & 13 3/4" from the front of the trigger to the back of the recoil pad, which has hardened with age and has a few splits throughout. The stocks rate in about Good-Plus overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion and for the age, the bore rates a 10 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 80% of its metal finish. There are some scuffs, draglines and scattered freckles of oxidation. Light thinning can be seen along most of the leading edges. The screw heads range from sharp to lightly tool marked with strong slots. The markings are crisp. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a more thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
