#6549 WWI era U.S. military top-break 10 Gauge flare pistol, manufactured in Bridgeport, CT circa 1915-1918. Features a 9" barrel, brass frame, knurled spur trigger, knurled hammer spur and smooth walnut grips. Barrel # matches frame. Bore is fair condition with even roughness and some deeper pits. Bluing on barrel has turned mostly brown, much bare metal showing where rubbed and handled, areas of pitting. The brass frame is in good condition, mostly discolored to a reddish hue, with numerous small scratches and dents. Wood grips are good condition, possible replacements that do not fit the frame properly. Marked "L" inside frame, "Z" on barrel lug. Attributed to previous use on a USCG cutter that was decommissioned in 1923. Overall condition is Fair.
