bolt action rifle with 24" barrel, manufactured 1880-1881, marked U.S.I.D. to left side of frame, made for the US department of interior for Army Indian Police. Government inspectors mark HN on the left side of frame and barrel, rifle alsofeature original carbine butt plate. Sling swivels and original front and rear sights. Approx. 600-800 known to be made. Rifle has smooth action and fair bore. An interesting old west rifle showing good condition overall. From the awardwinning Gordon Matson collection of Indian guns. No FFL required.
