Featured in this lot is this original print of Remington's Game Art Collection titled, "Near Miss" from the 1950s. Frederic Remington was an American painter, illustrator, sculptor, and writer who specialized in depictions of the American Old West. His works are known for depicting the Western United States in the last quarter of the 19th century and featuring such images as cowboys, American Indians, and the US Cavalry. This print depicts two men on the ridge in the background taking shots at a large grizzly bear. A bullet strikes the rocks near the bear and spooks him as he runs away. The bottom reads, "Near Miss / From The Remington Game Art Collection / From No. E-6414 Printed in U.S.A.". The print shows wear consistent with its age and use over the years, showing slight rips and peeling of the protective cover. No major signs of damage is noted.
