Antique Remington-Elliot ''New Repeating Pistol No. 2'' Four-Barrel Cartridge Derringer, #582, .32 RF cal., 3.375'' tip-up barrel group with blade front sight, marked with maker's name and address in left-side flute, and Elliot's 1860-61 patent dates on right; steel frame has lower front barrel hinge, sequential revolving firing pin, double-action ring trigger, unique ''spur triggerguard'' and integral gripstraps; plain smooth hard rubber grips. Mfg'd ca. 1863-88, originally with full-blued finish. Condition is fine. Barrel group retains approx. 60% smooth toning blue, especially in protected areas; frame retains traces of blue and is otherwise a smooth gunmetal gray-brown tone. Grips are smooth with a tiny chip at bottom left, and fit well. Action is crisp; bores are clean and bright with scattered etching and sharp rifling; barrel hinge is solid. Scarce and desirable with a full-blued finish. Est.: $500-$750. (Antique)
