Remington Beals .44 caliber percussion Army revolver, martially marked, blued finish, commercial type varnish grips with silver plated triggerguard. Serial #1173, right in the martial range and due to productionproblems at the factory, many were not completely marked or inspected. The pistol shows large “C” and “P” inspections with “B” and “C” inspection on silver-plated triggerguard. The butt shows painted oldcollector ID #FB-182 (Note: Easily removable, however this adds to the provenance as this is a well known Remington Arms collector ID). The barrel shows 90-95% original blue just thinning on the edges with some minorscratches and ultra-sharp barrel address. The frame shows 50% thinning original blue. The cylinder shows 50-70% original flaking blue. The hammer shows 80-90% case hardening. The loading lever shows considerable originalcolor. The triggerguard shows 50-60% toning original silver. The grips are very good plus with light original varnish. The edges are super crisp, the interior excellent. All original small parts, including cone-shaped
