Remington Beals .36 caliber percussion Navy size revolver in good original condition with trigger guard engraved in period block letters “W. H., 44, N. Y.” Bill Gary’s inventory card on this revolver states that “ Lt. William Haver was theonly officer in the 44th New York Regiment with these initials and this revolver would’ve been his”. The revolver shows a smooth brown patina finish with traces of original finish mixed in and some scattered light to moderate pitting anderosion with the heavier pitting occurring on the barrel, rear of loading lever and a few other small areas. The grips show a small area of wood filler with some light cleaning and small losses. The barrel address is light on the top line. Theaction is good and the bore has seen a lot of firing but still clean with very shallow rifling. The engraving on the trigger guard is absolutely genuine to the period in our opinion and also Mr. Gary’s. Note** File card and research folder areincluded**. The collection of William A. Gary consigned by his estate. Est.: $1250-$2500
