Remington .41 caliber over/under derringer, type-2, two line “E. Remington & Sons” address, reversed to read from breech to muzzle, or left-handed, with ejector, serial #2527. The pistol shows period New York style engraving with scrolls, geometrics and florals on bottom of barrel which are absolutely genuine to the 19th century. The derringer shows approx. 60-70% nickel plated finish with good thick pearl original grips. The areas where the nickel have lifted have gone to a patina with just slight erosion and beginning age. The hinge shows a slight crack on the left side which is hairline. The metal surfaces are completely uncleaned, the markings are sharp, the bores are slightly rough. The engraving is more deluxe and profuse than normally found, and the backwards address is intriguing. Similar to example pictured in Remington DoubleDerringer by Drummond, Johnson, & Etc. Page 89. Est: $2,500 - $5,000
