Remington .41 caliber over/under derringer early variation showing two-line barrel address with ejector, finely factory style scroll engraved, nickel plated, with rare black celluloid grips that simulate rosewood. Serial #2482. Refer Remington Double Derringers by Drummond, page 83, for identical example but not in as fine condition. The pistol retains 90-95% original soft nickel, some slight losses at the edges of the frame and hammer, and where the nickel has lifted, just some beginning normal aging and miniscule pinprick pitting. The nickel is completely uncleaned and unbuffed, not polished. The edges are sharp, the grips are very good with slight handling and edgewear. The barrel address is sharp and crisp, the hinge is unbroken. Considered among the best of engraved specimens in the early series, formerly in the Robert Howard collection. A gem.
