Remington 1867 Navy Rolling Block Single Shot Pistol, #6120, .50 CF cal., 7" round barrel, originally with blue and case hardened finish, smooth one-piece walnut grip, fixed blade front sight, with small "V"-notched groove located on the breechblock. Marked on top of the barrel near the breech "I/H.E./(Naval anchor)" Right side of the frame is marked "P/F. C. W.", with another "F. C. W." stamped on the underside of the barrel at the breech. Matching visible numbers on the underside of the barrel, forend, left side of the grip frame, and inside the lower section of the grip. Bottom left side of the grip also displays the "F. C. W." inspectors cartouche. Left side of the frame is marked in two-lines "REMINGTONS ILION N.Y. U.S.A./PAT. MAT 3D NOV. 15TH 1864 APRIL 17TH 1866". Mfgd circa early 1870s. Overall condition of this pistol is good as un-cleaned, with general brown patina, scattered light erosion, and traces of silvered case colors on the receiver. Grip and forend exhibit age and wear consistent with that of the metal surfaces, displaying four old "hash marks" and two longer horizontal scratches to left side of the grip. Factory lettering and Naval markings are clear. Action is strong. Bore is fine with well-defined rifling and intermittent spots of mild erosion and pitting. Est.: $1,000-$1,400.
