<B>Rembrandt Peale Autograph Letter Signed.</B></I> One page, 5" x 8", Philadelphia, July 25, 1857, to a Ch. G Anderson Esq.. Peale apologizes for misplacing the correspondent's letter, in part: "<I>...This, no doubt, will satisfy you in excuse for my apparent neglect of your polite request- which would have been so easy to answer, had I known your address. Respectfully Yours...</B></I>" Peale, the son of artist Charles Willson Peale, was a talented and popular portraitist known particularly for his paintings of Thomas Jefferson and George Washington. Peale's signature is quite bold and clear, over three inches in length, and with a flourish beneath.
