Image size (plate size) 6" x 7", Plate mark visible.<p>"Official Amand Durand", authorized signed Certificate of Authenticity IS included.<p>Also have the Amand Durand blinstamp SEAL.<p>In the 1800's, etchings were not numbered as limited editions. To Number, according to California law, plates must be defaced after not to number in keeping with current marketing standards but rather to maintain the historical and collectors value of the plates. All etchings pulled from these plates are embossed with the Dominique Vincent et Cie logo.<p>Rembrandt was born in 1606 in Leiden , Holland . Before his 30th birthday, the name Rembrandt had become synonymous with artistic excellence. The Dutch master was known worldwide for his highly prized series of classical etchings. These images are known for their delicacy of tone and intricacy of detail. To raise funds in 1657, Rembrandt sold the plates at an auction of his entire estate to a prestigious European family with the expressed stipulation that not even one of the etchings could be printed until a full 100 years had passed after his death.
