It is a painting of the XVIII Century,representing the Jesuit San Luis Gonzaga or it could also be the Jesuit San Francisco of Borja.... Borja was before entering in Jesus' Company, Duke of
Gandia, and this is probably the reason of the crown besides the lash.

After seeing the rotten body ( burial at the Cathedral of Granada), of the Empress Isabel from Portugal, wife of the Emperor Carlos V, Borja said he wanted to serve a gentleman whose body didn?t corrupt,but as far as they are imaginary portraits it could be any of both characters, although I would vote for the second one.
It is a popular painting, with certain grace measuring about 35 inches tall and 24 inches wide , it is clean and restored , in good conditions.
