Relic condition presentation case for pair of 1860 Army Colts, lid inlaid with original inscribed plaque that reads “Rich’d W. H. Jarvis, Esq. Complements of Col. Colt”. The exterior of the case has been badly burned. The veneer is near charred. The plaque is darkened but very legible. The interior of the case has survived remarkably well due to the air seal which protected it. The partitions are intact and the material issomewhat darkened but fair to good. The left top corner of the box is missing, and the top is slightly warped. An interesting relic in the fact that Jarvis was one of the most important people associated with Colt and was his brother-in-law and President of the Colt firm. Est: $1,500 - $3,000
