Registered Transferrable Ithaca Type B Auto & Burglar Gun with Holster
Produced between 1925 and 1934, the Auto & Burglar gun is not a sawed-off shotgun, but a factory produced short barreled shotgun marketed to homeowners and travelers in need of compact firepower, that also found an audience with bank guards and armored car operators. Built in small batches from regularly produced sporting actions, the Auto & Burglar is fitted with a 10 1/4" ribbed barrel set, marked "SMOKELESS POWDER STEEL" and "MADE IN U.S.A." on top, with wavy line engraving around the breech, cylinder chokes, 2 3/4" chambers and a single brass bead sight on the matte rib. Each side of the casehardened frame is marked "AUTO & BURGLAR GUN/ ITHACA GUN CO. ITHACA, N.Y." with a scene of a pointer in the field on each side. Checkered short forearm and pistol grip stock, with a raised knuckle and sharp angle designed to ease the blow of firing. Length of pull is 3 7/8". Also included is a tan leather flap holster, designed to be worn on the hip, secured to a steering column, or otherwise placed as needed, marked "Auto & Burglar Gun/ MADE BY/ ITHACA GUN CO/ ITHACA, N.Y." on the flap. This weapon is classified by the National Firearms Act as "Any Other Weapon". This is a fully transferable NFA Class III Firearm currently on a Form 4. You are required to check your state and/or local laws as to whether or not you may own this. This weapon can be transferred to a Class III dealer at no charge.
