<B>Red River (United Artists, 1948).</B></I> One Sheet (27" X 41"). Cast against type, John Wayne stars as a ruthless cattle baron out to drive a herd of longhorns from Texas to Missouri. The role would prove a tremendous success for The Duke, whom many critics had considered a one dimensional actor prior to this performance. It's interesting to note that this film should have been the screen debut for Montgomery Clift. Although filmed in 1946, it was shelved for two years making Clift's Oscar nominated turn in <I>The Search</B></I> his first released motion picture. This one sheet had light wrinkling and fold wear with separations prior to an excellent professional restoration.
