Recently discovered iron-frame Henry rifle with Confederate Family history, .44 rimfire caliber, serial #64. This rare iron frame surfaced at the Antique Road Show in St. Louis in the summer of 2000 in the hands of decedents of L.D. Rasdall, member of Kentucky Cavalry, Buckner’s C.S.A. Urias Rumsey Rasdall was from Smith Grove, KY, and the rifles lineage is traced through his decedents who had remained in Kentucky, and this is memorialized in a notarized affidavit, signed Sue Rasdall Ruddell, who was his direct descendent and transferred the arm to recognized collector and dealer Louis Drake from KY. A letter from Mr. Drake states Smith’s Grove is located just outside Bowling Green, a stone’s throw from Fairview Kentucky, the home of Jeff Davis and in the heart of the bluegrass country, where the Rasdalls were affluent horse breeders and businessmen. He further states that these men would have been well equipped and would have had access to arms and ammunition in Louisville, which was just down the road. Kentucky, though a Union state, bred many staunch Confederate officers and soldiers. The letter states other information on Henry’s that first appeared on the open market, Louisville, KY,
