Reap the Wild Wind (Paramount, 1942). Three Sheet (41 Reap the Wild Wind (Paramount, 1942).
Reap the Wild Wind (Paramount, 1942). Three Sheet (41" X 81"). Cecil B. DeMille brought this sea-faring tale to the big screen with John Wayne as a ship-wrecked captain who falls for Paulette Goddard, the owner of a salvage company. Raymond Massey plays the villain to the hilt and lures John Wayne (as Goddard's jilted lover) over to his rival salvage company. All this and in Technicolor too. This three sheet is rolled and mounted on linen, merging the two pieces together. There is some color variance between the top and bottom portions, but this was often the case on these three sheets due to the variations inherent in the printing process. The image is sweeping and dramatic in this beautifully restored piece. Edge tears, fold separations and areas of apparent cracking have been carefully corrected, as have small instances of paper loss, primarily in the outer fold areas. This is an altogether stunning piece. Very Fine on Linen.
