Raymond Nordwall is known for Modernist style Indian figure and genre painting. • Native American Heritage - Pawnee & Ojibwe • Raised in Muskogee, Oklahoma • Principal works are oil on canvas. • Studied at the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) and graduated with honors. Also studied at Bacone College in Muskogee. • Studied with Johnny Tiger Jr., Dick West and Frank Howell. • His work is influenced by Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Monet and Marc. • Featured in art publications such as Southwest Art, Art of the West and Cowboys & Indians. • Well-known for his contemporary, colorist depictions of Native American warriors and wildlife.
