One of fifty first edition copies Bradbury had specially bound as gifts for his friends. Inscribed by the author "Jan. 26 1978 For Bruce - One of fifty copies specially bound in 1955 for my friends - and now for you with affection from Ray Bradbury" on the front free endpaper. Octavo. 306 pages. Illustrated by Joe Mugnaini.<BR><BR>Publisher's red cloth with gilt spine titles. In original pictorial dust jacket. Housed in a custom red cloth solander box with a black leather title plate affixed to the spine and lettered in gilt. Minimal soiling to the bottom edge of the boards. Textblock edge toned slightly. Dust jacket spine lightly sunned, with minor rubbing to the boards and wear to the corners, including a .75 inch tear at the front flap fold. A tiny .25 inch portion lost at the top edge of the rear panel of the dust jacket. Overall, a very good copy of one of Bradbury's great works.<BR><BR>"Four stories appear for the first time in book form, 'The Dwarf,' 'The Watchful Poker Chip of H. Matisse,' 'Touched with Fire,' and 'The Wonderful Death of Dudley Stone.' Remainder are reprinted, most with revisions from <I>Dark Carnival</B></I>."
