Ray Bradbury personally owned art by Joseph Mugnaini for ''The Martian Chronicles''. According to a typed label affixed to verso of one of the frames, these scenes were used as chapter headings in Bradbury's popular book. Lot comprises 2 framed relief prints of ''The Peace Offering'' and ''The Benediction of the Rocket'', both titled ''Martian Chronicles'' and signed in pencil by the artist. The former depicts a figure wearing a cape and wielding a large, cannon-like object. The latter is of a priest in robes, appearing to oversee a rocket explosion. Prints are matted and framed to an overall size of 20'' x 16.5'' and 19.25'' x 16.25''. Near fine. With a COA from the Ray Bradbury estate.
