Ray Bradbury: Fahrenheit 451 (New York: Ballantine Books, 1953), first edition, 199 pages, red cloth with yellow lettering on spine and front board, 8vo (5.5" x 8"), dust jacket. Dust jacket and illustrations by Joe Mugnaini. Includes the stories "The Playground" and "And the Rock Cried Out". This novel, written on a rented typewriter in the basement of the Los Angeles Public Library remains one of the most influential and widely read science fiction tales ever published, and taught us all at what temperature paper burns. This copy is in about very good condition in an about very good dust jacket that has wear at the folds and some rubbing to the panels. The book shows moderate edge wear. A must-have entry in any science fiction library of merit.

Shipping: Books & Catalogs (view shipping information)
