Four humorous original pearl-finish double weight publicity photos, sent to Bolger, of Bolger and Shepard done for the 1971 Bing Crosby Golf Tournament. First photo shows Bolger and Shepard with their irons out, with Shepard’s golf bag reading, “Alan B. Shepard, Apollo 14, Fra Mauro Valley Country Club; next photo shows the pair standing under an umbrella, despite the lack of rain; next shows Shepard teeing off with a hockey stick as Bolger, dressed in a winter coat and snowshoes, tracks the trajectory of the ball; and the final photo shows Shepard watching Bolger who is kneeling in prayer. Accompanied by a typed letter from McFadden, Strauss, and Irwin Inc Public Relations to Bolger, dated September 28, 1971, and reads, in part: “Many thanks for your kindness in rushing back from Philadelphia to play golf with the Admiral and help with the publicity photos for the Crosby. They came out well and I am enclosing several enlarged prints for your personal use.” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
