View of a booming Rawhide. Photograph measures 6 1/4”x4 1/4”, grey single matte 6 1/2”x5 1/2”, medium contrast—faded on the upper portion and slightly yellowed, and focus is good. No photographer identified. The Palace Hotel sits on the center bottom of the photo one block from the San Francisco Undertaking Co. The bottom right of the photo reads 'Rawhide'. The photo has been blackened by the inscription. Rawhide boomed from 1907 to 1909 from a combination of promotion and desperate miners looking for new gold strikes. A nice shot of one of Nevada’s most explosive mining towns. City: RawhideCounty: MineralState: NV
