Rare single-shot American rifle marked “D.S. Cole, Patent Applied For” on left side of frame. .45 caliber Sharps, 2-6/10” case. 34” medium weight half round half octagon barrel. Rounded pistol grip stock, with buttstockcheckered. Hard-rubber buttplate. High quality modern replacement long-range sights. In good condition, with grey/brown patina finish, some light to moderate pitting, some slightly heavier pitting on the barrel.Stocks show some light cleaning, but are at least good. Bore is good but shows some use. The rifle measures approx. 50” overall, barrel is approx. 33”. A rare opportunity to obtain a patent model single-shot Americanrifle. Est: $2,500 - $5,000+
