Rare original U.S. Krag rifle “Bowie knife” bayonet, approximately 13.5” overall with a 9” clip point blade marked “US” on one side of the blade at base and “1900” on the other side at base. This hard-to-find bayonet is in overall very good condition showing a grey patina with some scattered erosion; good markings, very good wood grip slabs and working release button in pommel. It is estimated that less than 3,000 of this style of bayonet was produced by the Springfield Armory. Bayonet only, no metal sheath accompanying this piece. Est.: $400-$800.
