Rare lifesize preening wing up sanderling ca early 1900's by A. E. Crowell, East Harwich, MA. In XOC on a lifesize quohog shell. Very delicately carved tail feathers, raised curled wing with the head and bill tucked under the wing. The paint is exceptional and the carving is in perfect condition. The rectangular brand is on the bottom. Probably a white rump sandpiper in winter plumage. See Specie defining white area at the base of the wings. A delicate and marvelous jewel by America's decorative carving pioneer. (decoy)

<BR><p>3 - All sales are final except that refunds will be made on lots found to be other than described in this catalog. However, an intention of return must be expressed to the auctioneers within 14 days after you have received your decoy. The decoys need not be returned within 14 days but we must be notified within 14 days of your intention to return them.
